He’s There Through It All

At times, life will be too much.
Things will pass through His hands that will be more than you can handle.
Crushing moments that will leave you flat on your face- uncertain whether or not you’ll ever stand again- will come.
Phone calls delivering news that you can’t unhear. A life changing diagnosis you can’t undo. Losses you can’t mend back together.
Things will pass through His hands that will be more than you can handle.
Trauma.
Pain.
Suffering.
Tragedy.
If you’ve lived more than a couple of decades you’ve likely experienced some or all of those things.
And they’ll tell you, He won’t give you more than you can bear.
But they are wrong.
Consider Job, if you will.
Stripped of every good thing in his life.
And he grieved.
He wondered why he was even born.
He questioned the Almighty.
He’s not the only one. I know you’ve felt these things too.
I know you’ve wondered where He is in the midst of your suffering. I know you’ve searched for Him in the darkness of night, loneliness racing through your body.
I know you’ve felt abandoned. Discarded. Forgotten.
But that’s not who He is, He never leaves. Those feelings and thoughts, they are the voice of His enemy.
He’s there. Through it all. He’s holding you when you can’t stand. He’s sustaining you when your world crumbles. He’s the breath in your lungs when you’re suffocating.
He won’t ever give you more than He can handle.
If you’re flat on your face, just call his name. Maybe you can’t utter it out loud at first so call silently until you can find the strength to speak it…Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
There is no other hope for the broken, rest for the weary, healing for the suffering.
And there is nothing—NOTHING— that he can’t handle.
