What's on my mind?
Responsibility, scriptural integrity and speaking the truth.
1 Corinthians 16: 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.
Had a conversation ( Hey I want you to hear this! Type) with a friend I respect greatly last night. We talked about some of the things that he just doesn't believe are right and wrong. This was in lieu of a video he saw that bothered him about an individual that was preaching what I would call crazy. He (the pastor) was taking scripture out of its context. It was really challenging my friend, even making him mad. Honestly, it made me a little mad when I heard it. We talked about why the Bible said what it did and the context of where and when it was said to the best of my knowledge. What was cool, Is our conversation came to a point where I asked him, do you believe there is a God? If so, you have to realize that there is a right and wrong and God stays out of the gray. He is God. His say is the last say even when we don't like those things in His Word (not taken out of context).
So back to my verse. First (be on guard) we should be thankful when God gives us an audience with someone who may or may not have a relationship with Christ, that is being challenged. Second (be firm in the Faith) seek God's wisdom when asked to explain your faith so that others can't divide you from truth. Last, We have to be strong, be courageous, and present the truth; So when those moments come where someone needs a little guidance we can be bold and say what needs to be said in love.
That's my thought as I sit on my dads island watching the sun come up.
May be just for me....
