Wisdom is needed in the every day life.

The importance of wisdom is a topic I find challenging to discuss because it requires me to admit my lack of it. I have realized that I often lack clarity and knowledge throughout my life. As a teenager, I thought I knew everything, but it wasn't until my twenties that I realized how brilliant my parents were. As I entered my thirties and started a family with my wife Kaye, I experienced the humbling reality of parenthood and the ongoing challenges of marriage. These experiences have shown me that wisdom is crucial to navigating life.

For me, the search for wisdom began with the acknowledgment that I could not earn my way into heaven or fix my sinful heart on my own. I needed Jesus to heal my broken heart and provide a way for my salvation and reconciliation with Him through His death and resurrection. Jesus personified wisdom, and His death on the cross was God's wisdom for our salvation. The good news of the Gospel shouts of God's infinite wisdom and provides the answers we need in our search for wisdom.

Whether we are parents searching for wisdom in raising our children, spouses looking for guidance in building a meaningful and loving marriage, navigating difficult conversations, or individuals seeking to make wise decisions in everyday life, we have access to the wisdom of God through His Word. The book of Proverbs is loaded with glorious truths to guide our daily lives. As Proverbs 1:20 says, "Wisdom calls out in the street; she makes her voice heard." The question for us is whether we will take the wisdom given to us for granted or if we will lean in and listen.
