“Jesus In My Place” is a tagline that my church uses to illustrate what Christ did for us on the cross.

It is mentioned throughout the year but truly embodies the message of Christ’s mission on the cross here at Easter. When I stop to think about this act of GRACE,

I am overwhelmed with gratitude and humbled that He would care enough for me to do such a selfless act of love. You see, I am certainly not worthy of such an extravagant display of sacrificial love. I am sinful, ungrateful, and unforgiving at times, and completely self-centered over the slightest inconveniences that come in my life.

But God. He sent His Son to die the death that should have been for me. He bore my stripes and by them, I am made whole. How is that even possible? Our finite minds cannot comprehend such a gift as this. But we can be thankful for it every single day.

We can share this gift with others. We can honor Him by spending time in His Word and praising His holy Name. One of the saints in my church had Galatians 2:20 as her life verse. I have adopted it as well.

Jesus was crucified in my place. The old me was crucified with Him. I live a new life now of faith in the One who paid the ultimate price for my salvation.

“Jesus In My Place” is the BEST NEWS we share with others this Easter season.
